I Took the “Can You Date a Ph.D. Student?” Test and Kinda Failed
I went on OkCupid, land of random quizzes, and took the “Can You Date a Ph.D. Student?” test.
I answered truthfully, and thought I was totally awesome, like in the upper echelon of Awesome Trailing Partners.
I kinda failed. Like, in the 60s. Like, Below Average.
What does this stupid test know anyway. I demand to see the validity scores on this test! [ Actually, I'm not exactly sure what a validity score is. I hear the term bandied about often by the researchers at The Ponderosa. It sounded good in that sentence, did it not? Very dramatic? Hee. ]
My sad, pitiful results:

Well, I took the quiz, too. It seems I’m not a good match for dating a grad student, either. No telling what this means for my actually becoming a grad student…
I think this means that we don’t think that academia is our career mecca.
SOME REVISIONS
You’d be a little uncomfortable with a graduate’s lifestyle, and you don’t know too much about the process, but if you’re willing to be very patient and learn a lot, it might work out.
